How to perform Umrah

Ihram, Tawaf, Sa’i and Halq/Taqsir — concise steps for first-time pilgrims.

1. 1. Enter Ihram At Miqat, make niyyah for Umrah, wear Ihram and recite Talbiyah.
2. 2. Tawaf Circumambulate the Kaaba seven times, starting from the Black Stone corner.
3. 3. Sa’i Walk seven times between Safa and Marwah.
4. 4. Halq or Taqsir Men: shave or shorten hair. Women: trim a fingertip length. Umrah complete.

Mina, Arafat, Muzdalifah and the days of Tashreeq — what happens when.

1. 8 Dhul Hijjah — Mina Travel to Mina after Ihram; rest and prepare for Arafat.
2. 9 Dhul Hijjah — Arafat Stand at Arafat until sunset — the pillar of Hajj.
3. Muzdalifah & Jamarat Overnight Muzdalifah, then stone the largest Jamrah and continue rites.
4. Tawaf al-Ifadah & farewell Complete Tawaf, Sa’i if needed, and Tawaf al-Wada before leaving Makkah.
